AfroxPac 30+ Routine
Inspection and Maintenance
Readiness
of the AfroxPac 30+ is confirmed visually, at any time, by
checking the moisture indicator in the protective casing.
If moisture has entered the unit, the blue colour changes
to pink or white, and the unit should be removed from service.
When seals are broken, and moisture enters the unit and reacts
with the chemical, the units protection time may be
shortened.
The self-rescuers
should be inspected on a daily basis. Before entering the
workplace, visually inspect the AfroxPac 30+ to be sure that
it has not been opened, tampered with, or otherwise damaged
(i.e. the units show no signs of physical abuse). Be sure
that the anti-tampering seals are intact and that the moisture
indicator is blue. If the moisture indicator is white or pink,
the unit should be removed from service. The end user can
replace the primary tampering seal. However, should the secondary
seal be broken, the units should be returned to the supplier
for inspection.

As far
as Maintenance of the AfroxPac 30+ is concerned, it
is recommended to keep the unit clean, especially around the
moisture indicator. If necessary, wipe with a damp cloth.
Do not use harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong detergents.
Although
rugged, the self-rescuers should not be subjected to unnecessary
abuse or be thrown around. The units should not be stored
in temperatures in excess of 55°C.
