ASMD: Non Destructive Test Facility
The
ASMD unit is small and portable and can be performed in situ
by a trained mine operator or by
Austdac personnel.
The ASMD system, developed over several years
of practical testing, enables an accurate
assessment of the condition of the chemical bed
to be achieved.
It uses an audio technique to accurately determine
the condition of the self rescuer unit by
measuring chemical bed degradation in a Non Destructive
way.
The benefits of ASMD are that each unit at a mine
can be periodically checked to ensure that it
still complies with the manufacturers specifications.
This gives reassurance that each tested unit WILL
WORK when required to do so.
