ASMD: Non Destructive Test Facility
• The
ASMD unit is small and portable and can be performed in situ
by a trained mine operator or by
Austdac personnel.
• The ASMD system, developed over several years
of practical testing, enables an accurate
assessment of the condition of the chemical bed
to be achieved.
• It uses an audio technique to accurately determine
the condition of the self rescuer unit by
measuring chemical bed degradation in a Non Destructive
way.
• The benefits of ASMD are that each unit at a mine
can be periodically checked to ensure that it
still complies with the manufacturer’s specifications.
• This gives reassurance that each tested unit WILL
WORK when required to do so.

The SR-T: “Live Reusable
Chemical Oxygen Training Unit” 10 - 15 minutes duration
• The
SR-T is a purpose built oxygen self rescuer training unit.
• The SR-T can be assembled ready for use without
tools.
• All symptons of wearing an S.C.S.R. are simulated
including elevated
temperature, increased breathing resistance,
elevated CO2 and
elevated oxygen are experienced in the 10
- 15 minute time frame.
• Personnel can experience wearing a self contained
self rescuer in
a cost effective manner.
The SR-T comprises:
