Austdac
has released a new pullwire cable, designed to meet the hazardous
environment of both underground and overland conveyor systems.
This is a 5 core cable with varying
size cores specially designed to carry signal and power over
long distances.
The cable is “yellow”
which is visually easier to identify along a conveyor, and
has met all the relevant flame retardent tests and UV character
required under the standard. It is also designed specifically
to match all Austdac supplied conveyor systems including the
Austdac new SIL3 AS61508 certification.
This cable has been matched and
tested to meet our L/R specification of our power supplies
along with the required capacitance and inductance parameters
specified on our certification.
The cable is central to the operation
of any system, so selection of the correct parameters and
type is critical. Cable that “looks similar” does
not necessarily have the same parameters, capacitance etc.
This can lead to system faults and possible certification
issues. Where possible use manufactured system specific cables.
